EDI’s Securities Taxation Services

EDI now supplies cost effective data-feeds to compliment your tax return software.

In the past as a taxation professional you had three options:

  • Rely on your clients providing their share portfolio associated documentation and then enter the information manually.

  • Purchase an expensive and cumbersome book service and then enter the information manually.

  • Purchase a prohibitively expensive data-feed

Not any longer, EDI is able to provide extremely accurate, low cost data-feeds that could pay for themselves in the case of just one missing dividend counterfoil!!!!!

EDI has considerable depth of knowledge and experience in the provision of securities taxation data and understands entirely what the taxation professional demands. Everything from complicated capital event information to seamless data integration.

Data Content

Dividend Payment Data

Data items include Gross & Net Dividend Rates, Tax Credits, Ex Dividend Dates, Payable Dates and many more. Group 1, 2 and Equalisation figures are also provided for Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment Companies. Interest payments together with their different tax rates are also clearly highlighted.

Capital Event Data

Includes all Takeovers, Mergers, Demergers, Stock Splits, Subdivisions, Scrip Issues, Rights Issues, Open Offers, Name Changes and much more. Each event is fielded and modularised to ensure complete usability.

Search via your chosen industry standard security identifier, either SEDOL or ISIN.

Data Coverage

Includes all Equity and Preference dividend payments, all Fixed Interest payments and all corporate actions on all UK quoted stocks, including those listed on the Alternative Investment Market and OFEX. The same coverage extends to all UK Authorised Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment Companies.

Total coverage includes some 13,000 plus securities and 2000 funds run by some 130 management companies.

Data Accuracy

EDI sources this data via direct feeds from the London Stock Exchange. In the case of Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment Companies data is collected and compiled from a number of sources including through direct relationships with the Fund Management Companies themselves. Comprehensive data quality checks are undertaken to ensure unparalleled data accuracy.

Data Delivery

EDI is able to offer a range of delivery mechanisms and frequencies:

  • FTP delivered data ensures fast and secure delivery every time.

  • Portfolio based delivery, you provide us with the securities contained within your client’s portfolio, either individual or collective portfolios, and we will deliver all the relevant corporate action information on just those stocks.

  • Email alert service, again either generic or on a selection of securities.

  • Internet delivery.

Update frequencies range from daily, weekly, monthly through to quarterly or perhaps you prefer the tax year-end annual delivery.

Benefits

  • Enables you to dispense with expensive and cumbersome book services

  • Enables you to complete client tax returns without time consuming referrals to your clients over lost dividend counterfoils and other security history related documentation.

  • Avoids time consuming telephone calls to company registrars

  • Enables you to trace your client’s shareholding, again without time-consuming reference to them.
