Security Masterfile Code Manual

INFORMATION SOURCE CODES

These codes are primarily used to identify the Stock Exchange or Market on which the security is officially listed and are alpha/numeric characters. Some securities however may not be officially listed, in which case they will have a 3-character value comprising any combination of alpha and/or numeric characters. This appendix is in two sections, the first showing the codes of official Stock Exchanges or Markets in alphabetic order, the second showing all other codes used with an explanation of their use.

This list will be added to from time to time as further Information Source codes are recognised.

Note for ADRs:
Where the underlying equity is a UK Security and has its main listing in London [and is shown in the DOL] the ADR should be set up with the Information Source as London.
If the underlying security is foreign the Information Source should be the country of the Primary Listing.
